Real Life Is So Much Better!!!

A loved one is swept off her feet by a returning GI in the aptly named town of New Hope, Pennsylvania, 1945
Have you ever met that person who lives in a completely different world, who craves someone else's life, or lives on their phones or computers "stalking" and patterning their lives after someone else?
I have, and let me just say they are completely miserable! They are so caught up in what they are dreaming about, they are totally missing out on real life! Their relationships, their spiritual life, their homes, their clothes, their looks, their everyday life is just not good enough because it doesn't match up with what they are seeing somewhere else!

There's the fiction book dreamers..

The "I want a Mr.Darcy, a man with a british accent, who will meet me at a ball and will quote poetry, and then propose during a beautiful sunrise or in the rain... and life will be happily ever after, it will be a constant ball, a wonderful dream, la la la la la..."
Okay I admit I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic myself, and I know even Mr. Darcy didn't quote poetry lol But there are those who sit at home and truly have gone to the extreme of being depressed at the fact that they can not have the life they read about in books! They look at today's world, and it makes them sink back into the shadows and stay in their books where it's nice and peaceful! Trust me there isn't much about today's world that makes you want to sit and have a picnic in it.. and sadly chivalry, and romance have faded into the past. But all isn't lost, there is hope for all you Hopeless Romantic Dreamers!

There's the internet "stalkers"...

The "Her life is so perfect, look at her facebook every minute of everyday, why can't my husband do that, or why can't I look like that in my clothes, or her hair is so perfect, she is so spiritual, her children are always so well behaved, I wish I could do everything she does..."
I think this is the saddest person of all, because they are so focused on how "perfect" a certain person's life is they end up belittling everything in their life! Nothing they do will ever compare to what someone else has done. It will drive you literally crazy, if you are not careful! That person you are so consumed with may not truly be so "perfect" as you are thinking, they may be having real struggles, they may hate their hair, or they may think they need to lose weight, or they may be having issues in their marriage or with their children! They may actually be one of the few that doesn't post all their problems on the internet for the world to see! lol Or believe it or not, their life may be as wonderful as you think it is. She may be the perfect homemaker, her husband may love her and spoil her, her children may be super obedient and sweet... But yours could be the same! You Sad Internet Stalkers there is a way to be just as happy as those you compare your life to!!!

Love this. A sailor sweeping his girl off her feet.

Is Real Life Really Better?
Maybe you are thinking, you don't know my real life it could never compare to my books, or my friend's life! I'll never have the kind of marriage the ladies on those blogs talk about, I'll never look like my friend on facebook, have her money, and I'll never get my children to be so perfect!
I'm not saying you'll ever arrive to what you think is perfection, I'm not saying you'll have a Mr.Darcy, and a picture perfect life... I'm saying it's time you look at your life, your real life and start living it for God's glory!
Pull your focus on what God has put in your life, if he has given you a husband (even tho he isn't perfect, and may not be super romantic, and will buy you a dress and sweep you off to a ball lol) Love him! Love him like there is no tomorrow!!Honor him, even if you think he doesn't deserve it, serve him, laugh with him, enjoy him!!! So many girls would kill to have a good man, a godly man, who takes care of them and loves them, don't waste your marriage comparing it to something or someone else. If you are married to that man, then it is God's will, and he has made you to be a help meet, and encourager, to love him no matter what! If you are failing at this, and not focusing 100% on your job, then who is filling your place? Who is doing your job? Someone may take up where you are neglecting...I know sometimes it feels like it doesn't make a difference in your life to put so much effort in making sure he is happy, sometimes it may seem like no one cares if you are happy. But trust me in time the rewards will come!
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Titus 2:5

If you have children, goodness they need you!!! Not some Mama glaring at a computer screen and phone 24/7! I'm so blessed to have grown up in the 90's.. haha I know that doesn't sound like very long ago, but my how different life was then! My Mama was never on a computer, and if she was on a phone it was in the kitchen or living room and she was probably talking to Daddy, Granny, or my Uncle or Aunt lol our quiet time with her wasn't in front of a computer screen scrolling down facebook! It was reading a book, or sitting on the porch outside playing with kittens and swinging on the swing. Our lives were wonderful, we didn't go extraordinary places, and do great activities, we just enjoyed life! Kid's need their mothers to put down their phones and computers and pay a little attention to them, they need to go outside and play in the dirt without having their picture taken for facebook, they need to be snuggled with when they are in their jammies with no phone in hand! If you need help or advice, don't look at what someone else is doing, ask your mother, or ask some ladies in church (that their children have turned out right) maybe they would have a few wise words for you!
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Proverbs31:28
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, Titus 2:4

And if you are still single, no Mr.Darcy, no perfect children, no anything lol You may honestly be discouraged whenever you read something about someone else getting married, or how perfect life seems to be for everyone, or how much you long to just run away and be a hermit! Don't lie you've probably thought that ;) Real life can be better for you too! A husband, a home, and children don't automatically make life great! Real life for you may be to be on your own,or still at home, or off at college, or maybe about to enter into a relationship..and if you are not happy and content now, marriage and children won't fix that! God has a purpose for each of His children, and what a wonderful and exciting life He gives us to live! So many of us girls think that life doesn't begin until we give our man a kiss, have the ring on our finger, and waltz down the aisle.. how wrong! Yes married life is wonderful, to share everything with your best friend, and have a partner through life is a gift from God.. but it has it's bad days, and lonely times, and hardships just like in the single life. Why do we ladies constantly think the next stage of life is what we need? Enjoy being where you are, start a ministry to young girls(that will throw some drama in your life lol), be an encouragement to them, help out in Sunday School, learn new things, practice cooking alot lol (coming up with new meals is hard haha) get super close to your Lord! if I could stress anything is focus on God and doing what He wants right now, once you began seeing a man, become engaged, get married, your mind and heart become so full and focused on whats ahead, and your man, that if you are not already close to God, it will be hard to keep your focus on things of the Lord! So right now enjoy doing things you may never get to do again, Look at Amy Carmichael, she never married but as a young lady became a missionary and dangerously saved over 500 young girls from a life of slavery and prostitution in the false gods temples of India! Over 500 Girls calling her mother! Imagine if she had stayed in Ireland, pining away for a dream life...
But I would have you without carefulness. He (or she) that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord; 1Corinthians 7:32

Girls and Ladies take your focus off the internet, movies, and books, and back to real life.. sure it's not as cheery and life isn't always a bowl of cherries. But Real Life is soooo MUCH better!!!!
