"Chords that are Broken....Will vibrate once more..."
Something that really bothers me is to see a piano all torn up and broken...To see perfect keys that could have made beautiful music, all yellow and cracked, neglected or misused by it's owner.
Sometimes those keys are beyond the point of repair....
Does Broken really mean there is no point for repair?
Do broken strings on a Violin, mean that it's useless? Or if a priceless instrument is scratched or chipped, it can't be polished and still play the same fancy notes?
Recently I heard of someone judging a young girl because she had gotten a tattoo...
I understand that as Christians, our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit. We should never mark or damage our bodies in that way, because we are not our own...We belong to Christ.
But that is not what bothered me...
This person said that now that that young girl had that mark on her body, she would never be able to serve the Lord in a ministry, like a Pastor's wife, or Youth leader.
Do you agree with that? I'm sorry but I sure Don't!!!
Yes a Tattoo, is often a outward showing of rebellion, a scar of sin that everyone can see.
A choice often regretted, that reminds a soul day by day of their past life.
Sin, is sin......on the outside or in.....If that girl were to repent, ask for God's mercy, forgiveness, His blood to wash away her sin. God will wash her clean, He'll forgive her, and forget her past, forget that tattoo, and the sin and attitude that came with it. He sees her as His child, and He has plans for her, maybe even a Preacher Husband, or a ministry ahead for her.
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. (Psalms 103:11 KJV)
But You say that Tattoo is still there? God didn't erase it?
We all have scars, some have scars bigger than others...because no one is perfect.
We all have this flesh that has to be fought day after day, Sometimes even as saved people we drift away, and fall into sin and God forgives....He cleanses our sin away...He heals our broken heart...but we are not as we were before, we have been burned by the fire we thought wouldn't hurt us...
It left a scar....God wants us to live right, and in His way and plan, He puts warning after warning....so we wont get hurt, or burned by that fire of sin.
Our scars are what the devil uses to remind us of our worthlessness, of our mistakes, of our sins...When we are trying to pray, something is thrown into our mind that brings shame to our heart...We are forgiven, but the Devil knows that if he can keep reminding you what you did, or what you thought, or how you dont even deserve to serve God, or call on His name....truly none of us do, but don't let the devil convince you to hide away from God. The Bible tells us to come boldly to the throne! God is not reminding you of those things, He loves you! and He wants you to do great and mighty things for Him!!
When we judge someone elses scars, because they are outside and you can see them,
We forget our own... You know they're there. But you can hide them, you don't have to explain to your sunday school class, "see this scar, class, I was away from God going my own way I let my mind lust after someone elses spouse, I lied, I dressed to blend with the world, and late at night I turned my computer on and looked at things I shouldn't. I did things that shouldn't be spoken of, because it was sin. But God forgave me, took my sin away, washed me white as snow....and when He looks at me He sees His child, pure and clean! But listen class, choose God's way, don't play with the world or with sin because you will regret it, and be left with this scar."
We think those outward scars like tattoos will hinder and keep someone from serving God, like teaching a sunday school class, or being a Pastor's wife...They are just as forgiven as you...
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23
Scarred or Broken...God can sweep His love over your life, and put you on His path, and use you!
He has great and wonderful plans for you, Maybe God will even use that scar to help you pray for and help someone else, see God's mercy and grace!
Don't Judge someones outward scar, because it seems more damaging and permanent than yours.
God has forgiven, loved, and erased they're pain, sin, and despair...just like He has yours.
It's time we as Christian's stop comparing ourselves to others, and start comparing ourselves to God!
You may not understand where I'm coming from, but this is something that has been on my mind lately...Don't think because Your Chords are broken....that They will not Vibrate once more....
The Lord is Good, and He is ready to forgive!
And Give You a Wonderful New Life ☺

This is a great post. Absolutely none of us are perfect or exempt from sin. I do not have a tattoo but I have many scars from past sins and failures. I am a living testimony God can use a broken life. I am not perfect but I am forgiven. Thank God for His great Grace. Thank you for this AWESOME post.
ReplyDeleteThank God for His forgiveness! You're so right...I [and any child of God] am living proof that He can still use us! He's taken things from my past that the devil said I could never be used because of and used it to help somebody else in that kind of situation! And all for His Glory! Praise the Lord! ♥
